  • October 13th: An Introduction to Collaborative Problem Solving -A new approach to parenting and teaching children: Collaborative Problem Solving is a revolutionary, evidence-based approach for helping children meet the behavioral expectations set by parents and teachers. We promote the understanding that many kids lack the skill, not the will, to behave well specifically skills related to problem solving, flexibility and frustration tolerance. Unlike traditional models of discipline, this approach avoids the use of power, control and motivational procedures and instead focuses on teaching kids the skills they need to succeed.Guest speaker Chris Alexiou is an author, father, teacher, former school principal and Co-Chair of The CYAN (Community Youth in Action Network) Oakville.
